I founded Surkay Mai CPA, LLC to provide a wide range of tax, accounting, and advisory services. I am looking to forge long-lasting relationships and be a trusted financial partner. As a certified public accountant (CPA), I believe it is my duty to help clients navigate the ever-changing world of tax and accounting.
Having spent years in fast-paced mid-sized public accounting firms in the heart of midtown Manhattan, I acquired a wide range of expertise working with businesses, individuals, trusts, estates, and tax-exempt organizations; with a concentration in high-net worth investment partnerships and real estate. Now I am applying the diverse experience and skill I developed across various industries towards helping my clients with compliance and growth.
Born and raised in New York City. I spent my teen years on the handball courts of Queens, competing citywide. While earning my bachelor's degree in accounting with magna cum laude honors, I worked at a local university and helped successfully launch a new learning center. After completing my bachelor’s degree, I passed the CPA exam and received my master's degree in accounting soon after, remaining on the Dean's List throughout my BA and MS years at Queens College. In 2017, I drove across the country (twice!) to set stakes in the Pacific Northwest. I enjoy working on cars, building computers, cooking, and binge-watching TV shows with my wife and our Alaskan Malamute.
